Vision

The Wikidot.com project is a realization of our vision of the Internet: free, open and widely accessible. Internet today is more social than ever before. That is why we offer places for people to meet, create, communicate and have fun. Rapid development of Interent tools and change of Internet trends like blogging, free services and social links makes the Internet the best medium for doing things impossible in the real world like gathering people from around the world to work together. Wikidot is for people and made by people that use Internet and want to contribute to this greatest invention of our epoch.

Wikidot is also about Open Source that is changing the Internet. Without it Wikidot would not exist and number of free social sites would be much lower. That is why we will always try to promote Open Source initiatives and projects and free content licenses that give both authors and readers much more freedom and flexibility.
