Advertising
At Wikidot.com we sometimes display discrete AdSense ads on free sites to help us pay the bills and keep the most services free.
Our algorithm tries very hard to show ads in a non-disturbing way, i.e. you frequent visitors should not be bothered with any ads, neither should logged-in users. Advertisements are shown only to a very small, but smartly chosen fraction of site visitors. The fraction is so small that most of our users are not even aware of the ads.
To remove ads from your site, there are three simple choices:
- Upgrade to one of our Pro plans — even Pro Lite (for about $2 a month) is fine and removes ads from sites you are a master administrator of
- Start controlling ads yourself using our AdSense integration — this way not only you do not pay us, but actually you could earn money using Wikidot.
- If you are running an educational site (for your classes, student projects etc.) you could apply for the Educational upgrade.
Also, ads are not displayed on any private sites.
