Hey sanichols,

You can request API access here, if you don't have a Pro account: http://developer.wikidot.com/i-want-api-access

STE isn't quite suited to backing up an entire site at the moment, but it's definitely something that I am aiming for in a future release.

Will trying out the Pro features or even purchasing a Pro account mess up the features afforded to my Educational site (e.g., unlimited members, no ads, etc.) The only thing that I want but don't have is API access because I want to use STE for site backups.

I had a question in the handbook: http://handbook.wikidot.com/forum/t-124176/signatures#post-368755 about signatures and where to find this feature…

Now I detect that there is NOWHERE a standardiesd and CLEAR LINK ( only the big button right top) to all the existing features ( * http://www.wikidot.com/plans ) - the main site - features are more a collection of all existing possibilities and not the explanation where i can find them…

In the example the question is about signatures - and there is no real explanation where I can use it if I have no pro account.

Above links “30-day Pro account trial, with no obligations” and “Upgrade panel within MyAccount” are broken. They should be changed to point to account:you/start/upgrades instead of account:you/start/upgrade

Hi,

in case you missed one of our last milestones, in December we introduced Pro accounts for our Users — subscription-based accounts that extend functionality of the common free accounts we are offering, increase the limits (like number of sites to create and more storage) and hopefully provide better experience when working with Wikidot-powered sites.

Many users suggested us that it would be nice to actually test what the Pro accounts offer before purchasing it. So, without any more buzz, we would like to encourage you to check out our new

30-day Pro account trial, with no obligations

Once you enroll into the trial program, your account and all your sites will be automatically upgraded to Pro Trial status and will gain access to all premium features we have. The only features that will not be upgraded are: storage space, limit of sites you maintain and limit of members in private sites. This is mostly to ensure that if you decide not to upgrade your account later, we can gracefully downgrade your account and your sites without deleting or disabling your content.

More resources:

Pro plans explained

Pro plans and upgrades -- Frequently Asked Questions

Upgrade panel within MyAccount

We hope you will find our Pro features useful and they let you use Wikidot more efficiently. Good luck!

Michal & The Wikidot Team
