First of all, we are happy to announce the new, entry-level yearly subscription plan Pro Lite. After listening to numerous comments about our pricing structure (thanks!) we realized that what we lack is an inexpensive, simple plan that does not necessarily need to provide many sites, storage etc., but should enable useful functionalities that free accounts lack.

Therefore the Pro Lite upgrade does not increase your number of sites (=5), but upgrades them all to Pro Lite status and enable e.g.:

• custom domain mapping — use an external domain for your site
• custom favicon
• more private members (10)
• uploading files up to 25 MB each
• flexible storage with 3 GB space included that can be freely distributed between sites

Pro Lite users also get forum signatures, pro "star" icon and access to pro.wikidot.com and cost only $24.95 (or €24.95 in EU, VAT included) for one year subscription. (Upgrades from Pro Lite to other plans are also available)

We also managed to set up direct card payments as an alternative to PayPal payments. Supported cards include Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Diners Club, IDEAL and Eurocard. This is provided by an external, secure service MultiCards.com. Having both methods, PayPal and direct card payments, has been our goal from the first day we started thinking about providing paid services. Card payments will be certainly the first choice for many of our users.

Great news, guys! That's exactly what I need. By the way, is it possible to "downgrade". I have a pro account, but that's way too much for my modest needs; a ProLite account would be more than enough (at least until my site is too big for it). Just a thought…

Good Idea, but I really don't understand why you guys have rolled back on the private wiki membership number so much because the back-end processing is probably not that much … maybe its the old capitalism at work eh? ;)

We are a group of Digital Activists who love wikidot, but we can't really invite a whole lot of other members to participate without buying a pro+ account… I wonder if there is an option to just "up the members" instead of getting more space and more sites? we are happy with one site…

have you folks considered a more 'flexible' option where users can buy memberships (20, 50, 100) or disk-space etc separately and on-demand?

Something like this would work for us perfectly. We are happy with a free private wiki and all that it offers, but would be nice to buy 50 members and spend our scarece cash on that…

@Ghost of TK: Well, we must be careful with private wiki's. They have the possibility for abuse. Think of it like this: It's a private site, so no one really knows what's going on in there. And sure, the admins could become wiki police, but that's not very realistic nor ideal. What would happen if one of these private sites was for illegal subjects? I'm talking underage pornography or something serious like that. We'd have virtually no way of knowing what is going on behind closed doors. So the limited number of members is a security check in place, it prevents abuse. Of course, this doesn't mean every private site is a wolf in sheep's clothing! Your suggestion for buying member spaces is worthwhile, and I will pass it on to our dev team.
