Homogenized email notification subjects

Email notification subjects homogenized for all actions on a page.

I don't think I like this change.

We used to get:

  • New Page…
  • New Post…
  • New Comment…
  • Page "Page Title" edited …

as the start of the subject line.

My preference is to usually skip by any messages with the word "page" in the subject, especially when reading messages on my phone.

Now we get:

  • [site-name] activity at Page Title

for per-page comments, new page creation and page edits.

And we still get:

  • New Post…

for new forum posts.

With this change I can't tell if the e-mail is something I want to read by simply looking at the first couple of words in the subject line. I have to open the [site-name] e-mail messages to see if they are comments or page creations/edits.

I like the idea of making things "homogeneous", but I'd like to see two categories of subject lines. One that combines posts and comments into one easily identifiable subject line and another that combines page creations and edits. That way I won't get "Blackberry thumb" as I try to stay current with the hundreds of Wikidot e-mail notifications I get each day.

NewPage was mangling the enter[ed] page title - now uses the title as entered.

Thanks for fixing this so quickly, Pieter!

Goes to prove that we need to be more systematic about making designs in public before implementing them. Stay tuned for some fine tuning, then.
