Wikidot is growing nicely (users, content, activity) and it is high time for… some changes.

First of all, we decided to change the front page layout. It is designed to be clearer and more modern than the old one. Many thanks to Gabrys (Piotr Gabryjeluk) for the great design!

By the time we were working on it, we also introduced a new feature that can be easily added to any of your wikis. It is a tabview element that lets you organize content in nice-looking tabs. When combined with the new advanced table, it opens a lot new of ways to organize layouts.

And, as an effort to present interesting wikis, we have chosen a new featured wiki! If you are interested in Heroes — a popular TV series by NBC, be sure to have a look at heroes.wikidot.com.

As you might expect, this is not enough for us! We are still working on more fantastic features and the long-awaited open source edition of Wikidot.

1. In the new layout links which haven't yet been clicked on stand out in an easily recognizable bright red color. But if a link has been clicked before, its color is a dark, almost black red, being very hard to distinguish it from normal text.
2. From an ergonomic point of view the increased line length (without nav:side) makes text reading harder for the human eye.

As far as the line length, you can just make the window narrower, but I wouldn't mind having side bar with some useful links.

For the link colors, I agree and have already contacted the theme's developer. The clicked links (and to some extent the non clicked ones) also look black to people with ether of the two most common color blindnesses.

As with any theme, all constructive criticisms are welcome. Thanks for your feedback. I will make sure it reaches the right people.

Change the main page — this is what I've been telling Michał for over a year now — and I'm happy it turned into reality :)
The new main page looks pretty professional and is not as messed up as the previous version. Good move. Hope it will bring more new users as well!

I really like the tabs!
It's really useful.
Some things i'd like to see added:

1. when using a "table of content" ( [[toc]] ) it lists all the items on all the tabs.
2. when creating a lot of tabs, the editable version of the page becomes a veeeeeery long list of code. Would be nice to somehow be able to quickly see in wich tab you're editing or to be able to see just the text of one tab to edit.

But overall, it's a great upgrade!
