Account login problem.

Hello I have a problem when I try and login to the wiki site it allows me, but when I try and log into the site I am a member of ( http://bvswiki.com/ ) it logs me in but it does not "log me in" so to speak meaning I can be totally logged out of wikidot and go to the site I am a member of and log in but it will not update the thing in the upper right hand corner and make it say I am logged in, but when I go to the main page of wikidot.com it says I am logged in…..I have tried everything to get it to work and when I post a message on bvswiki it says I am not logged in and post my IP instead.

Help please.

I'm lost...

First, I must say that I'm French, so, an obvious thing for you is maybe not the same for me. ;)

I created an account on Wikidot mainly to go on http://fretsonfire.wikidot.com/, and to submit custom songs. For this purpose, I must edit pages. (Or that's what I think.) And to edit, I must Join the site. To join, a "membership password" is asked. What is that ? Where can I find it ? Is it the good place to ask all these questions ? (The title is so true.)

Hoping someone can help me.

I wonder how I could give my visitors acces to the site without the need to register first.

Also: can Google crawl and register pageviews sites behind password?

I second that request. For online documentation purposes, I want a simple, general purpose password protection where only a public 'secret' password is needed to see (as in: read only) the pages.

Create an account with reading rights, then send account name and password to whoever you want.

@Radev-Law: Wow, I am so sorry I didn't get to you sooner. I'm assuming that by now you have been successful? I certainly hope so!

I'd just like to say that Radev-Law's post is a bright and shiny example of how we at Wikidot have realized that the "average user" is having some difficulties using Wikidot. This is something we acknowledge and are currently working on. In fact, several important changes will be implemented quite soon to rectify this situation.
Also, it is my job to watch these forums and catch users who need help. While I was only recently assigned to this task, I will do my best to ensure a post like Radev-Law's does not go unanswered again.

Moderators vs Reg Users Edit Permissions

I flagged a user as a moderator, but they are unable to edit pages. Only when I allow all users to edit are they allowed to edit. I only want normal users to be able to view without editing, but it appears to be an all or nothing deal. What am I missing

Go to the Site manager, then Members, List Moderators, and set the person's permissions to be a "page moderator"
