I suggest to add option "noSelf" so that Backlinks module would not show the page itself in the list if a page links to itself.
This module would be tremendously useful to me if I could use it to list the backlinks of a page other than the page the module is on, the same way the page tree module works.
I'm waiting and hoping!
This would be much more useful to me if it had ListPages-like arguments for selecting and displaying backlinks. For example, I want
[[module backlinks category="paper"]]
%%first_paragraph%%
%%tags_linked%%
[[/module]]
because I have several papers and I want each writer's page to list those they have written.
I agree with Franknarf: this module should have the same templating patterns as the ListPages. But, the biggest problem for me is: it displays hidden pages! Aren't they hidden on purpose? It happens that I'm adding writing some drafts as hidden pages, but linking them to other pages. Right now I'm writing a page named pessoas:_karl-marx (wich will be later renamed as pessoas:karl-marx) and i've linked it to conceitos:marxismo. It already appears there as a backlink! I know that there is a bug section on community forums and I will post it there. I just wanted to notice it and my agreement with Franknarf.
I second the proposal of Franknarf.
For my WIKI it would be usefull to rule out certain categories in the list, so if all the syntax of ListPages could be added to BackLinks, I (and my users) would be very happy.
Listpages have a Page selection link_to=".":
| link_to | Select by outgoing links |
Outgoing links selector:
*' enter a single full name of an existing page to select pages that link to that page
- while "." means pages that link to current page
Than you can in a live " _template" always build a selected backlinks-List by using the category="aaa, bbb, ccc" page selection …
