I am currently the Industry Solution Manager for Local Government at Objective Corporation. This position is part of an ongoing investment in building an ECM solution that reflects the needs of local government.

I have been working in and around local government and information management for nearly twenty years now. Makes me feel old saying that.

I spent the best part of ten years working in local government in Queensland. I was fortunate to work right across the organisaiton from the depot, works, finance, and IT. My most significant achievements were in the planning area. Over 5 years we transformed to a highly electronic operation with all information distributed, generated and approved electronically.

Since 1999 I have been in the vendor community. For a number of years I had a project architect role deploying ECM solutions across ANZ, primarily for local government clients. Over time my role has evolved into a more strategic focus. The area I work in now is termed product management/marketing. This is a fascinating area which has nothing to do with the marcoms (marketing communications) area of public relations, events and advertising. In product marketing our role is to identify the needs of specific industries and tailor and build solutions that solve the problems identified.
